How often will the adventurer tier list change?
Six published Monster Hunter Outlanders tier lists agree that Midori, Luka and Haze are the strongest launch adventurers, but they disagree sharply on Madelyn, Pepper and Arkaya. We converted every list to the same 0–100 scale and averaged them, so the ranking reflects published opinion rather than our own playtesting.
How the consensus score works
Each source keeps its own letter grades, so a raw “S” is not comparable across pages. We map each source’s scale linearly from its own top grade (100 points) to its own bottom grade (0 points), then average the available placements for each adventurer. A five-tier list and a three-tier list therefore carry the same weight, and a missing placement is never treated as a bottom grade.
| Source | Published / updated | Scale used | Column used |
|---|---|---|---|
| Game8 | Updated 3 Nov 2026 | S / A / B / C | Main team |
| TopUpLive | Updated 3 Nov 2026 | SSS / SS / S / A / B | Overall |
| LDShop | Updated 3 Nov 2026 | S / A / B | Overall |
| gacha.gg | Updated 29 Oct 2026 | S / A / B | Overall |
| PlayerAuctions | Published 30 Oct 2026 | S / A / B | Overall |
| mobi.gg | Published 28 Oct 2026 | S / A / B / C | Overall |
The six lists provide 78 placements for the 13 launch adventurers. Two pages also mention Freya, and one includes the Fated Adventurer; both are excluded before scoring. The result is a snapshot collected on 4 November 2026, not a permanent verdict.

S tier: Midori, Luka and Haze
Midori is the only adventurer in the top grade on all six lists. Game8, LDShop, gacha.gg, PlayerAuctions and mobi.gg place her in S; TopUpLive goes further with SSS. Her Fire Long Sword kit combines damage with a parry, and no source records a serious weakness. A 100.0 score does not mean she is four times better than a B-tier pick — it means the published sample has no dissent.
Luka scores 87.5 with top grades on four lists. PlayerAuctions is the lone A, citing the positioning demands of a ranged Thunder Bow kit. The other five lists put Luka in S or SS, so the consensus still lands comfortably in S. Luka is the strongest ranged option in the ranking.
Haze is the clearest example of a main-versus-squad split. Game8 rates her A as a main and S as a squadmate; TopUpLive has her at SS, LDShop and mobi.gg at A, and gacha.gg and PlayerAuctions at S. Her affinity and elemental crit buffs make her more valuable in a coordinated team than the main-team column suggests. The 76.4 score puts her just above the S cutoff.
A tier: Madelyn, Arkaya, Pepper, Keres and Luxheart
Madelyn has the widest disagreement in the roster: C on Game8’s main-team column, S on LDShop, gacha.gg and mobi.gg, and A on PlayerAuctions. The low Game8 grade reflects a main-team ranking; the high grades reflect healing and spore damage that a team can use. Averaging the six lists gives 66.7, the top of A.
Arkaya is a defensive Lance support with party shields. PlayerAuctions puts Arkaya in S; Game8’s main-team column is the lone B. TopUpLive has SS, while LDShop, gacha.gg and mobi.gg settle on A. The 62.5 score reflects that spread rather than a clear consensus.
Pepper has the widest grade range in the entire roster: SSS on TopUpLive and C on mobi.gg. Game8 and LDShop put Pepper in A, gacha.gg in S and PlayerAuctions in A. Aerial Heavy Bowgun control and paralysis are the selling points; the disagreement is about how much a pick-up group can exploit them. The average is 61.1.
Keres is an S on Game8 and PlayerAuctions, an A on gacha.gg, and a B on LDShop and mobi.gg. The split tracks how much a team can exploit Dragon debuffs. Keres lands at 55.6, in the middle of A.
Luxheart is the only adventurer whose Game8 main-team grade (A) differs from its squadmate grade (S) in the same direction as Haze. mobi.gg is the only list with a main-team S; PlayerAuctions has B, and the other three have A. Daze and control are the kit’s identity. Luxheart’s 48.6 score is the lowest in A, only 3.6 points above the cutoff.
B tier: Rhodes, Pyro, Raya and Ryunosuke
Rhodes is the only Ice adventurer in the launch roster, and the only one whose grades cluster around A and B instead of splitting across the full scale. Game8 and LDShop put Rhodes in B, gacha.gg, PlayerAuctions and mobi.gg in A, and TopUpLive in S. Hammer charge damage is the appeal; the 41.7 score reflects a roster with no clear Ice niche yet.
Pyro is a high-risk Great Sword burst pick that trades incoming hits for charge time. TopUpLive is the lone S, LDShop and mobi.gg put Pyro in A, and Game8, gacha.gg and PlayerAuctions put Pyro in B. The 33.3 score makes Pyro the second-lowest B, not a recommendation against the character.
Raya is the pre-registration freebie, and her grades are unusually consistent for a B-tier pick: Game8 and TopUpLive have A, while LDShop, gacha.gg, PlayerAuctions and mobi.gg have B. Fire Dual Blades with restraint utility is the kit summary. Raya and Ryunosuke tie at 20.8 because they share the same 2×A / 4×B pattern.
Ryunosuke is a Fire support with healing and ailment removal. Game8 and TopUpLive put Ryunosuke in A; the other four lists put him in B. The tie with Raya is a useful reminder that a 20.8 score can hide different kits — the number measures published grades, not similarity.
C tier: Ouyang Varen
Ouyang Varen has the lowest consensus score at 11.1. mobi.gg is the lone A; Game8 puts Ouyang Varen in C, citing Sharpness stacks that reset on a missed block. LDShop, gacha.gg and PlayerAuctions place Ouyang Varen in B. The C bucket exists because one list places the character below B, not because every source agrees.
Where the six sources disagree most
The most useful part of a consensus list is the disagreement, not the average. Three splits matter more than the rest:
- Madelyn (C → S). The gap is about role. Game8’s main-team column asks what a character does as the lead damage dealer; the S grades credit healing and spore damage that a team can use. If you are building around a support, the S grades are the relevant ones. If you need a main, the C is the warning.
- Pepper (SSS → C). TopUpLive and mobi.gg are nine grades apart on the same character. Aerial Heavy Bowgun control is either the reason to bring Pepper or a niche that a pick-up group cannot use. The page does not resolve that disagreement; it shows it.
- Haze and Luxheart (main vs squad). Game8 publishes both columns, and both characters move up when the question changes from “best main” to “best squadmate.” That is a signal about team value, not a contradiction.
If a character you like sits in B or C, check the individual grades before dismissing the pick. The weapon tier list shows the other half of the decision: a strong adventurer with a weapon you do not enjoy is still a bad main for you.
Fated Adventurer and Freya
Fated Adventurer is the player avatar, not a gacha unit. The avatar can use any weapon, element and class, so placing it on the same scale as a fixed kit would compare two different things. Game8 ranks the avatar separately; we exclude it from the 13-adventurer score.
Freya was unreleased on 4 November 2026. gacha.gg and PlayerAuctions include her in their lists, but a ranking of a character players cannot obtain yet is not actionable. mobi.gg reports a release window “around November 27 through January 2027”; that is a reported window, not an official date, and we do not present it as one. Freya will be added to the scored roster only after release.
What this ranking does not claim
This page does not claim that any adventurer deals a specific amount of damage, clears a specific hunt in a specific time, or is future-proof. None of the six sources publishes raw measurements, and we have not run a controlled test. The scores are an average of published letters.
The page also does not claim that the launch meta is settled. The game launched on 29 October 2026, the sources were published within six days of launch, and the 2 November update changed experience systems and fixed bugs without publishing a version number. A tier list built in this window is a snapshot, not a verdict. We will date the next revision and keep the source table visible so you can see what changed.

A seventh page, mhoutlanders.wiki, publishes a provisional mechanics-only ranking and states that it is not yet verified with live-game measurements. We left it out of the score for the same reason we would not average a prediction with a measurement; it is useful as a cross-check, not as a seventh vote.
